A nutritious and tasty granola
The basis of our recipes are simple but tasty and full of nutrients :
To give you energy in the form of complex carbohydrates and fibres, our main ingredients are oats and quinoa flakes, for a crispy touch. For a sweet note, we coated our chunks with coco sugar which has a low IG index.
You can recharge your battery and avoid a late craving with the low IG carbohydrates and the fibres.
In order to give you all the essential fatty acids that your body needs, we add different seeds and dried fruits that provide omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that help maintain a healthy heart and brain.
You’ll find a mix of almonds, sunflower seeds, chia and hemp seeds. They were slightly toasted in order to enhance the flavours without affecting the nutritional properties.
Oat, hemp seeds and almonds contain also a high amount of proteins. In order to add a source of complete proteins, containing all essential amino acids, and highly digestible we add some insects powder and more precisely buffalo worms powder.
The different ingredients present in each of our recipe contain also a good amount of iron, zinc, magnesium and vitamin E.
Insect powder high in proteins
To add some proteins to your granola, we added some buffalo worms powder.
In order to obtain this powder, we turned insects into a fine powder that have been previously dried at low temperature.
We keep all the nutritional benefits of the insects and keep out the visual aspect that could be a problem for some of you. For the buffalo worms powder taste, it has a nutty flavour.
Insect powder contains more than 55% of proteins. Insect proteins are what we called “complete proteins” source. They contain all the 9 essential amino acids. Among the 20 amino acids that our body need on a daily basis, the 9 of them that are called essential can’t be created by our body and need to be brought by our food. When a protein source contains all these 9 essential amino acids, we can say that the protein is “complete”.
Moreover, the buffalo worm contains mono and poly-unsaturated fatty acids such as omega 3, 6 and omega-9 that you can find in olive oil.
At least but not, at last, buffalo worm is especially high in iron and other minerals that are particularly well absorbed by the human body.
Quite interesting isn’t it?
